On a snowy January afternoon, I ventured through the winter fluff to take on my first engagement session of the year, and it was SO MUCH FUN. My dear friends Nina and James are getting married later this fall, but decided to hold their save-the-date photography session in order to get their postcards out to friends and family as quickly as possible.
Now, I’ve definitely had my share of photographing balloons and confetti for birthdays and other events, but I’ve never been faced with an ENTIRE room full of them, both floating and covering the floor! Thank goodness for my handy wide-angle lens, which made the scene feel that much more grand. While balloons aren’t entirely new to the wedding and engagement scene, I knew that this was true to the style that Nina and James wanted, and I am planning to create even more unique photos for them this summer.
Aside from the balloons, the session was full of love and support from family members who were a huge help setting things up! I don’t ever mind the company on set if it helps the bride and groom feel at ease. Congratulations you guys, it’s going to be an incredible 2014!
